Crystal Meth / Methanphetamine

Methamphetamine is a strong stimulant for the central nervous system which causes increased amounts of the brain’s neurochemical transmitters for norepinephine and dopamine to be released. These transmitters are responsible for regulating appetite, attention, body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and mood. They also regulate the alertness or alarm (fight or flight) response.

Methamphetamine affects the brain’s rewards centers, causes a sense of euphoria and excitement. Methamphetamine is used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. It is highly addictive. Crystal Meth is the street name for methamphetamine. It is predominantly used as a recreational drug.

Methamphetamine is not a drug that can be treated with ODI’s exclusive, patented General Anesthesia Assisted Opiate Detoxification (GAAOD) treatment.
