Rapid Detox from Opiates and Painkillers
The concept of rapid detoxification is to block the opioid receptors in the brain while the patient is less than fully conscious. Rapid detox greatly reduces the severity of the withdrawal symptoms that the patient experiences, as well as the potentially life-threatening risk of going through withdrawal “cold turkey”.
ODI’s exclusive, patented General Anesthesia Assisted Opiate Detoxification (GAAOD) treatment utilizes general anesthesia, but limits patient exposure to general anesthesia to less than half an hour. The rapid detox treatment is followed by a naltrexone treatment protocol while the brain adjusts to normal production of endorphins. See Our Program
Rapid detoxification is not a cure for opioid dependence. It is only the first step in what must be an overall drug rehabilitation program. If patients follow their personalized after-care maintenance plan, they will greatly improve their chance for successfully transitioning to a drug-free life .
